Working within the sugar cane industry, our client is looking to employ Workshop Supervisors x 7.

The role is based in Kakamega one of the fastest growing areas of Kenya, for some sort of reference check Kisumu (Lake Victoria) this is 1 hour north of it.

They have over 2000 vehicle units, including 1000 tractors, also diggers, bulldozers, articulated trucks, rollers, graders, bail loaders, D60s. (If you are applying for the driver/ trainer roles, these are the vehicles you will be training on).

Working within the Workshop: they are looking for people who have the knowledge to identify, repair and train. You will be working with lots of local mechanics who have no formal training, so your support, knowledge and training is imperative. You will need to add structure and procedures, be a natural leader, but also be happy to jump on the tools to train up your team.

Repairs will be done on site where possible or the vehicle will be brought back to one of the centralised workshops, which is where the Recovery Mechanic comes in.

You will be provided with accommodation close to your work, utilities will be paid for along with flights. It will be done on rotation, three months on, 1 month home.

Workshop roles - The client is particularly interested in those who have managed teams and have also worked as a VM B or VM C.

Please note this is not a tax free role, Kenyan tax is at 30%, but please bear in mind the cost of living out there is very low.
