Boxer Systems Engineer

Our client has a century of engineering excellence and innovation — ranging from concept design to prototype manufacture and full-scale production - of rapidly-deployable, modern bridging systems for use in military and disaster relief scenarios.

They are currently recruiting for a Boxer Systems Engineer


Main purpose of the job: 

To interpret and assess the impact of engineering drawings and engineering change notices published by the Boxer Design Authority. To coordinate the implementation of change in conjunction with configuration manager, production, and procurement departments. To support the procurement department at WFEL in answering technical queries associated with engineering drawings. To assist the Manufacturing Engineering department with issues associated with fabrication and assembly.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out detailed Engineering assessments on all UK MIV drawing changes which arise from the Configuration Management workflow, providing support to the Configuration Manager.
  • Analyse and understand the impact of all technical directives released from the KMW Design office in Munich. 
  • Provide Engineering assistance to the procurement department in answering technical queries which arise from the UK Supply chain
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in resolving lineside engineering issues which could lead to concession requests. 
  • Liaise with the KMW Engineering department is analysing concessions which arise from the WFEL Fabrication and Assembly lines. 
  • Populate and upload the UK MIV Infantry Carrier, Drive Module and Welded Hull CAD models into Teamcenter.
  • Analyse repeat engineering issues in conjunction with the Engineering systems leader.


Experience & Qualifications: 


  • BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent 
  • 5 A-C Grade GCSEs 
  • Good interrogation skills in CAD, Solid edge
  • Experience in concessions
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-functional team
  • Current UK driving license


  • Experience in military automotive or aerospace production
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical & fuel systems
  • Experience as Engineering support in a Production environment
  • Teamcenter and SAP experience 
  • Answering/ management of non-conformities from a design perspective
  • Key active player in Kaizen events for business improvement projects related to engineering
