To deliver fully developed integrated proposals which can include standard, non-standard and third party products and solutions organised into “bid-winning solutions” which offer best value
To co-operate and liaise with Clients, client group companies, Third Party suppliers, Solutions Managers, Project and Engineering Managers to create innovative and bespoke solutions to meet and where possible exceed the client’s expectations
Propose, agree and commit to the defined quotation-strategy, quotation-process and delivery milestones for each enquiry.
Co-operate and work with all parties during the pre-contract development of solutions, working in-line with Company processes and quality standards;
Organise the workload and employ and assign the necessary resources to meet or exceed the agreed deadlines, review tender requests, agree quotation strategies
2) Initial Design Development:
Oversee the concept design development and system integration process;
Audit and control the development of ideas, concepts and schemes generated by Solutions Managers;
Critical approval of the selected design(s) for further development;
Ensure the selected design is developed, define project scope and technical specification (i.e. control and audit of: design risk assessment, calculations, scope document, technical approval, section designs, structural approval, H&S reviews)
Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD proposal drawings, to inform the client, internal and third party interests about the proposed solution, the scope of supply and any necessary detail drawings, (site plans, plan, side and front elevations, cross sections, element details)
4) Supplier and Quotation Management:
Develop, liaise and communicate with all suppliers to improve design development process;
Prepare and issue RFP’s (Request for Proposal) to suppliers;
To Co-ordinate, support and provide all suppliers with information to ensure deadlines are met (i.e. Systems requirements, bill of materials, technical specifications and standards, project programme)
5) Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed breakdowns of all project costs using company approved processes and tools (Materials, Transport, Installation and Labour etc.)
Preparation and presentation of project margins for approval by senior management.
Use of standard company costing models and tools to help manage best value.
Development of bespoke cost models where required.
6) Proposal / Tender creation:
Deliver bespoke customer tender or proposal responses for each enquiry to meet the required deadlines;
Ensure documents define accurate costs, scope of supply, operational and functional descriptions, technical specifications, terms and conditions and responses to limit commercial risk (i.e. terms and condition review, scope, specifications, PQQ information, payment terms etc.)
Skills, Knowledge, Experience
Computer skills – AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Word, Outlook, Excel, Navisworks, Powerpoint, MS Project Manager, Autodesk 3ds Max.
Basic understanding of engineering principals
Advanced product knowledge and technical competence
Attention to detail
Basic knowledge of contract law
Effective time management
Capable of working to tight deadlines
Occasional requirement to work outside of normal hours
