Our client has an end-to-end production business within the group With a turnover of over £3 million, our client slices, dices, chops, peels and grates up to 14 tonnes of finished fruit and veg a day to foodservice customers all around the UK.

Currently looking for a Production Manager

Purpose of the Position:
To manage all aspects of production and its staff whilst ensuring they comply with all current legislative, legal and customer requirements. To ensure efficient production management and controls in line with budget, maintaining food and H&S standards at all times. Ensure all products prepared within the businesses meet customer specifications and are of the highest quality and are compliant to the food safety legislation.



Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Ensure the companies compliance to all necessary legal, technical accreditation and legislation, including Health and Safety
To establish and maintain efficient processes for all product lines whilst exploring continuous improvements
Play a hands on role in managing and motivating and directing the facilities entire workforce
To manage inbound stock systems on a daily basis whilst ensuring rotation of product and overseeing the coordination between raw material supply and end product
To oversee the maintenance and servicing of all production equipment liaising with both onsite engineering and external contractors, include production lines and equipment to minimise down times and maximise output
Resolve customer complaints in a timely and effective manner
Oversee all product trials, organoleptic and microbiological testing in conjunction with technical managers
To ensure that approved company suppliers are used at all times
Control of all aspects of production and site hygiene through relevant staff
To ensure the continued development of team members by conducting regular reviews and appraisals, setting targets for achievement, and arranging future training as required
To oversee and ensure that all staff are trained in line with their roles and are compliant to relevant legislation
To work in a team based environment where all managers/employees work together for the good of the business


Key Attributes:

Experience of managing food production facility
Previous experience of leading a team within an operational environment
Strong understanding of H&S legislation in a production environment
Knowledge of all relevant food safety legislation
Customer focused and solutions driven
Product knowledge to the level of ensuring that compliance with the specification is achieved
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
IT Literate
Flexible working approach
Demonstrates attention to detail and good observation skills
Customer handling skills and knowledge
