Reporting to the Facilities Manager,
To repair, service and monitor plant and equipment, to operate plant and plant monitoring systems and provide 365 x 24 cover to respond to emergencies, plant malfunctions, alarms and breakdowns.

Key Responsibility Areas;
• Preventative maintenance, modification and repair to plant and equipment
• Daily routine tasks for the provision of high purity water to manufacturing
• Monitoring and maintaining Gas Detection and BMS systems
• Maintaining process cooling, compressed air, vacuum, bulk gas, effluent, heating and electrical systems
• Maintaining an effective response to plant malfunctions, alarms and breakdowns

Essential qualifications;
• NVQ Level 3, ONC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Building Services

Ideally with;
• NVQ Level 2 in a second discipline desirable or a willingness to work towards
• HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
• IPAF Qualified
• BS7671:2008 17th Edition Regulations
• City & Guilds / JIB Electrical qualification
• City & Guilds Mechanical qualification

Skills;
• Proven experience in a Facilities Maintenance role
• Knowledge of H&V plant and high purity water production
• Fault finding, diagnostic, communication, numeric and literacy skills
• Knowledge of safe systems of work
• Knowledge of computerised gas detection and B.M.S, systems
• Electrical bias
• Air conditioning / Mechanical / Clean room / experience
• Previous experience in manufacturing/water/chemical/chilling plants
• High Voltage Systems knowledge
• 3 Phase Working
• Software programming
• HVAC/Electrical Controls
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge
• PLC’s
• Cooling towers
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivation with positive attitude to work and ability to work with minimum direct supervision
• Reliability and the willingness to support and react to the business needs
• Computer literacy
• Practical application of the use of a wide variety of tools
• Flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements
• Customer focus

• FLT License or stacker truck experience would be desirable
• This position is working the following shifts – 2 on / 2 off / 3 on / 2 off / 2 on / 3 off including rotating days / nights
