Purpose of Position:

To provide blasting support to the coating services team including cleaning and preparation of the job site including materials and equipment whilst raising the company’s presence within the industry.

Workshop Technician - Major Responsibilities:

The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Role specific responsibilities:

Cleaning and preparing a job site.
Setting up of blast / paint equipment
Preparing surface to blast cleaned and painted, blast & paint of surfaces.
Use of a variety of tools including levels, lifts, power drills, saws, pressure washers and water spraying equipment.
Applying primers, followed by finishing coats.
Setting up of work areas and other temporary structures.
Masking all items for blast cleaning.
Carry out visual inspections of blast cleaned / painted surfaces.
Ensuring all areas in workshop are kept clean and tidy.
Driving forklift / manual handling equipment.
Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.
Workshop Technician - Health, Safety & Environment:

You have a duty to take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
You will carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental rules, policy, procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
You must also co-operate with management and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal obligations.
Ensure that you follow any instructions or health, safety & environmental training the Company provides and report any hazards, injuries or ill health that present a serious and imminent risk.

Workshop Technician - Work Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years’ experience of working with tools including levels, lifts, power drills, saws, pressure washers and water spraying equipment plus blast & paint experience.
Counterbalance Forklift Truck license – desirable, training will be provided.
Overhead crane trained – desirable, training will be provided.
Previous blasting experience – essential
Workshop Technician - Skills & Knowledge Required:
Able to work independently and on own initiative.
Comfortable in a customer facing situation and able to represent the company in all environments.
Good communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage time efficiently.
